This memorable match of the second placed Coastal Titans versus the third placed Falcons will prove first and foremost who will head strait into the 2015 WAWFL Reserves Grand Final.
On one side of the coin are the Coastal Titans, who will be looking to redeem themselves after being outplayed and outclassed by 53 points, courtesy of a fired up Claremont in their qualifying final match. The Titans will be out to rectify any doubts that they deserved a top two ladder finish and prove their football, professionalism, and fitness are at a high quality, not to mention their hunger for a repeat of their 2014 premiership success.
On the other end are Joondalup, who nudged closer to a run at the cup with their 42 point win over a tired Swan Districts last weekend. Notably, only three teams have beaten the Coastal Titans this season, with two of the three being Claremont, and of course, the Falcons. They’ll be out to prove their third placed finish is nothing to deter them from knocking the second placed Titans out of Grand Final contention.
Interestingly, the last time these two teams met the Titans went down 3.1 (19) to the Falcons 6.4 (40). If this history repeats itself, third placed Falcons will play first (Claremont) in the grand final, but will the Titans let that happen? Only time will tell.
This game will be played at ATOM Stadium in East Fremantle at 12PM sharp on the 30th of August.
