With the WAWFL home and away season completed for the season, this weekend will allow the 17 senior players selected in the second 2015 Women’s AFL Exhibition match to showcase their skills without impacting our competition.
While many senior players, coaches and fans will head to Melbourne for the AFL sanctioned game, Sunday football for the Youth Girls competition will still go ahead in a carnival style day, smartly titled Super Sunday! Having started in 2014 the day hosts all competing Youth Girl teams, with three teams currently playing for their places in finals.
Hosted at Steel Blue Oval, the day will be a female football filled event that will showcase five WAFC Youth Girls games displaying nine teams within the competition, with the WAFC Female Football Ambassadors will also be on site for the day.
Games Schedule:
10:00am – Swan Districts v Perth Angels
11:30am – Coolbinia/Ellenbrook v Peel Thunderbirds
1:00pm – East Fremantle v Claremont
2:30pm – Coastal Titans v Joondalup
4:00pm – Butler Falcons v South Fremantle
The day will be full of activities with this year also looking to include a photo booth and WAFC inflatables. The 2nd AFL Women’s Match of 2015 will ualso be showing on 7 Mate on site from 10.30am.
Super Sunday will showcase an exciting day of football for the Youth Girls and while three teams look to secure their place in the 2015 finals campaign, others will play simply to enjoy the game and their final game of the 2015 season.
We hope to see as many supporters and stakeholders attend the day to support all teams competing!
