WESTERN Australia finished its 2015 AFL Youth Girls National Championships with a second straight win over Victoria Country on Friday at Bendigo Bank Stadium in Mandurah, Western Australia.

After losing its opening two games of the Youth Girls National Championships as defending champions, WA finished on a high beating Vic Country both on Thursday and then again on Friday to end up finishing in third position in Pool A for the week.

Vic Country didn’t score in the first quarter on Friday, but then kicked the only two goals of the second quarter. However, WA then managed five goals to one in the second half to secure the 6.6 (42) to 3.3 (21) victory.

WA's week began with a 10-point loss to Vic Metro when they were overrun before then losing to Queensland as well by 31 points before beating Vic Country by 24 points on Thursday.

Vic Country, meanwhile, lost to Queensland by 22 points on Monday, to Vic Metro by 35 points on Tuesday and then by 24 points to WA on Thursday.

Asha Price kicked another three goals for WA with Sabreena Duffy and Claire Ortlepp adding one apiece.

Beatrice Devlyn, Rachel Ortlepp, Jasmin Stewart, Claire Ortlepp, Jessica Fenton and Ruby Schleicher were among the best players of the game for WA.

Eshe Lane, Ainslie Kemp and Teleigha Saunders kicked Vic Country's three goals while Sarah Chapman, Temikka Beeston, Amy McDonald, Lily Mithen, Chamika Sadler and Parris Stahl were among the best players.

Fresh off beating Vic Country less than 24 hours previous, WA got off to a fast start again on Friday with a goal to Claire Ortlepp after just five minutes.

WA controlled the first quarter but managed just the one goal before Vic Country started the second term strongly with an early goal to Lane. Then just before half-time Kemp kicked truly and Vic Country held a five-point half-time advantage.

Then when Saunders opened the scoring in the second half with another goal for Vic Country, they were looking good with an 11-point advantage but they wouldn’t score for the final 20 minutes of the match.

WA got the last two goals of the third quarter thanks to Rachel Ortlepp and Duffy to take a two-point advantage at three quarter-time.

Then it was all WA in the final quarter with Price kicking all three of the goals including a miraculous snap from the boundary. She kicked her third on the siren to give the hosts the 21-point victory.
