2015 Women's State Opens FootballFriday, December 12, 2014 - 12:38 PM
The State Women last played in the National Championships in 2013, where they finished 2nd to Victoria.
In 2015 a new concept will see the Women only face 1 team - Victoria in Perth before the Richmond and Fremantle AFL game on the Friday 5 June 2015.
In hosting this event, the WAFC are confident we will have the strongest WA team that we have ever had and our best chance ever to defeat the Victorians.
Our 15 Exhibition players demonstrate the depth of talent we are developing in WA and with a raft of U18 Youth Girls now qualifying for the Open Women’s team they are “hungry” for more success after beating the Vics in 2014.

2015 State Open Women Key Dates
- April - Trials (2 or 3 if required) based on WAWFL fixtures
- 24th April, 2015 - team Selected and announced.
- Training (WAFC to need to liaise with Assistant Coaches & WAWFL teams)
- Sat 9/5/15 - team Building
- Wednesday 3/6/15 - Jumper Presentation Night (TBC), Venue: TBC, Time: 7.00pm – 9.00pm
- Friday 5/6/15 State Game - WA vs Victoria, Venue: Patersons Stadium, Perth WA
