Coaches and managers sought for 2014 Yorgas Koodjal Kadadjiny MatchThursday, May 15, 2014 - 7:52 PM
Sunday, 1st of June 2014 - Indigenous All-stars Vs WAWFL All-stars
The West Australian Women’s Football League and Yorga match committee in collaboration with the West Australian Football Commission and major sponsor Kooya Consultancy, would like to present the third biannual Yorga’s Koodjal Kadadjiny match “Women’s Two Way Learning Match”.
This match is held to celebrate the passion and skill that our indigenous female footballers bring to the game, an idea born from Charlie Headland and Paula Hicks in 2010. The WAWFL is committed to facilitating cultural competency by raising awareness and knowledge of indigenous history, culture and changing attitudes that are based on myth or misunderstanding.
Through this match we hope to highlight the mutually respectful relationship between our indigenous and non-indigenous female football players, and by their example encourage a positive and respectful relationship between all Australians.
We are looking for coaches who want to be involved in either of the teams to help bring this match to fruition. Please send your coaching resume and a letter (1page max) expressing how and why you would like to be involved in this event to districtofficer@peelthunder.com.au by 5pm Sunday the 18th of May.
