As the WAWFL home and away season closes, the door to our finals series opens!

This weekend, the female football semi finals will showcase the some of the best players in our state, as 12 teams will fight it out for just six grand finals spots.

Kick starting the female football finals series will see the WAWFL junior counterparts taking to the field in the WAFC Youth Girl semi finals.

In a qualifying final, and looking to secure their place in the grand final, the Peel Thunderbirds will take on the Perth Angels in what will be an exciting match. At the same time, an elimination final will see Swan Districts and Claremont Piranhas fight it out, with both teams hoping to hold onto their finals dreams.

The WAWFL finals will open with the team from Joondalup taking on the Coastal Titans in the first Reserves qualifying final, with the winner of this game earning themselves a grand final place, and next week off. Trying to avoid elimination will see the East Fremantle Sharks take on the Perth Angels, who met just last week, with Perth taking the win by 8-points.

Our League qualifying final will see our two powerhouse teams take to the field. Coastal Titans will host the Swan Districts, with both teams looking to lock in their chance at premiership glory.

The League elimination final will showcase a Fremantle derby, as East Fremantle host South Fremantle, who finished third and fourth respectively on the ladder. While the winner will progress on in this years finals, the other will be finished until 2017.

With a strong weekend of football ahead, we encourage everyone to join us with the first games being played at 10.30am at Dianella Open Space, Light Street, Dianella.

Canteen facilities will be available, with the bar open from 1pm.

League, 2pm:
Semi Final 2: Coastal Titans (home team) v Swan Districts (away team), lower oval (qualifying final)
Semi Final 1: East Fremantle (home team) v South Fremantle (away team), upper oval (elimination final)

Reserves, 12pm:
Semi Final 2: Joondalup (home team) v Coastal Titans (away team), lower oval (qualifying final)
Semi Final 1: East Fremantle (home team) v Perth Angels (away team), upper oval (elimination final)

WAFC Youth Girls, 10.30am:
Semi Final 2: Peel (home team) v Perth  (away team), lower oval (qualifying final)
Semi Final 1: Swan Districts (home team) v Claremont Piranhas (away team), upper oval (elimination final)

14th August: Semi Finals - Dianella Open Space, Dianella.
21st August: Preliminary Finals, location to be confirmed.
22nd August: WAWFL Presentation Night
28th August: Grand Finals - Medibank Stadium, Leederville.
