The WAWFL welcomes two new members who have recently joined the WAWFL Board, and thanks our existing board members for all their wonderful, supportive and hard work. Their commitment plays a huge role in ensuring the WAWFL leads the way as we look forward to a Women's AFL competition in 2017.
President Carolyn Hills welcomed the two new appointments who she believes will be great additions to the Board.
"We would like to give a very warm welcome to our two incoming board members, Gerry O'Dea and Lydia Kirke. Both members have a great amount of relevant experience to their future roles within womens football, and we look forward to another successful and productive year ahead".

Gerry O'Dea
Gerry has an extensive history working in WA football including 16 years at the WA Football Commission mostly in participation and talent development, in particular for the Swan Districts FC, Claremont FC and West Perth FC. Gerry was the CEO at West Perth FC and staying within the sporting industry, is currently the General Manager of Yachting WA. Also the Senior Coach at Perth Angels FC, AFL Analyst on Twin Cities radio and a member of the DSR Champions of Change committee, reviewing gender diversity within WA State Sporting Associations, Gerry is a welcome addition to the WAWFL Board.
Lydia Kirke
With an extensive amount of legal experience, Lydia joins the WAWFL board to provide legal advice and support, particularly in relation to governance, by-laws and drafting of documents, including contracts and policies. Also having a lengthy sporting background, including involvement with the UWA netball club and the Rottnest channel swim. Lydia joins the WAWFL at a great time as we continually strive to better ourselves and our policies and governing laws.
