Rogers Cup Youth Girls partners with Amanda Young Foundation

In 2015 the Western Australian Football Commission Rogers Cup Youth Girls Competition will partner with The Amanda Young Foundation.

The Amanda Young Foundation is a non-profit community organisation dedicated to reducing deaths in WA from meningococcal disease.

The Foundation was formed in 1998 following the tragic death of Amanda Young, at 18 years, from meningococcal septicaemia. Amanda was a talented athlete and excelled at many sports.

2015 Kirby Bentley Cup

AFL National Youth Girl Squad announced

A final team of 27 will be chosen over the following months in the lead up to the Championships.

WA to host 2015 AFL National Youth Girls Championships

The 2015 AFL Youth Girls National Championships will be played in Western Australia for the first time following the WA Football Commission’s successful bid to host the event at Bendigo Bank Stadium in Mandurah.

The week-long tournament will be played in May with the support of the City of Mandurah, Peel Thunder Football Club and the Peel District.

In 2014 WA produced a crushing defeat of Victoria in the grand final to win the National trophy in that age group for the very first time.

Cowan appointed as 2015 State Opens Head Coach

Experienced coach Michelle Cowan has been appointed to lead Western Australia's State Open Women’s team in 2015 after successfully leading the State U18 Youth Girls to a National Championship in 2014.

Cowan, who helped create history when the WA Youth Girls became the first team ever to defeat Victoria at the National Championships, was also involved in the 2014 AFL Women’s Exhibition match, leading the Melbourne Football Club to victory against the Western Bulldogs.
